Cristina Pato Artist Fellow at APAP NYC

Washington, D.C. - The Association of Performing Arts Presenters APAP is inaugurating an Artist Fellows Program for the APAP NYC 2011 conference taking place in New York City from January 7 to 11. Each year, the APAP|NYC conference brings together more than 3,600 arts professionals from 49 states in the U.S. and 27 countries, making it the largest performing arts industry event. As an ongoing feature of the conference, the Artist Fellows Program is designed to integrate an outstanding cohort of 11 artists into the core of the conference by inviting the artist voice and process into central conference conversations. This program will involve fellows in the institutional dialogues that deeply impact how art is made and shared, while working to expand the ways in which artists connect to each other and their counterparts in the industry.

El próximo viernes día 14 de enero la sociedad de artistas aie, que preside luis Cobos, ofrece un homenaje a plácido domingo.

Ricardo Miño, Fernando Sancho, Juan Caffi, David San José, Spain Jazz Band y varios artistas más. Presentarán el acto y actuarán, también, José Mota y Edurne.

Con este homenaje los artistas de España, premian y reconocen la gran trayectoria artística,personal y humana de Plácido Domingo en su aniversario. A su vez, la AIE cumple 20 años de existencia, coincidiendo con este homenaje.

The 2011 International Festival of Arts and Ideas in New Haven will kick off with a free concert on the New Haven Green by the Silk Road Ensemble with Yo-Yo Ma.

Prior to the concert, our artistic director Yo-Yo Ma will give a talk about how the cross-cultural exchanges along the historical Silk Road trade routes have inspired his collaborations with musicians and artists around the world.

INSOUND FESTIVAL dirigido por Josep Vicent
Del 26 de agosto al 3 de septiembre de 2011 tendrá lugar en Altea la segunda edición de INSOUNDFESTIVAL, con el objetivo de consolidar una oferta cultural de vanguardia en los veranos de la Costa Blanca.
El evento destaca por ser pionero en su formato, el primer festival de creación y exhibición interdisciplinar que existe en la Comunidad Valenciana, llamado a enriquecer la oferta turística de la Costa Blanca con una alternativa innovadora dentro del llamado “turismo cultural”.

This residency will feature Silk Road Ensemble performances and workshops, and the Silk Road Project will participate in the Humanities Festival at Harvard. More information will be announced closer to the residency.

The Silk Road Ensemble with Yo-Yo Ma, recently called “one of the 21st century’s great ensembles” by the Vancouver Sun, will perform a free concert on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at 7 p.m. in the New College Theatre, 10-12 Holyoke Street, Cambridge, Massachusetts, presented by the Office of the President. Repertoire will include “The Taranta Project” by Sicilian composer Giovanni Sollima, music of the Roma people, and pieces by Ensemble members. Musicians including Sandeep Das (India), Kojiro Umezaki (Japan), Cristina Pato (Galicia, Spain), Dong-Won Kim (Korea) and Kayhan Kalhor (Iran) will be on campus for the residency.
