During the month of June Cristina will be part of the NPR Tiny Desk Concert Series performing with her Trio. Also she has been invited to perform at the WNYC Souncheck program live with her quartet. Apart from the media attention June is a special month for Cristina, she will be receiving one of the most important award of her native Galicia, the Trasalba Prize, for her work in the internacionalization of Galician Culture.
Among the stops of this month are the Aspen Ideas Festival with Yo Yo Ma and Lil Buck directed by Damian Woetzel, The Turnaround Arts Conference of the Presidential Committee for the Arts, the Clearwater Revival Festival on the Hudson River and the On Cue conference in Boston.

After an amazing Spring season, Cristina Pato will return to NYC with her Migrations Band. On June 5th Cristina will be performing her new album at Joes PUB in NYC. In June Cristina Pato will be part of the jury of the Festival de Cans, an amazing cinema festival celebrated yearly in Cans, Pontevedra.
Cristina will be also collaborating in diferent initiatives led by the Aspen Institute and Damian Woetzel in CO, the Turnaround Arts Initiative of the Presidential Committee of the Arts and Humanities and the NPR Tiny Desk program.

Cristina Pato will be collaborating with Arturo O Farril and his Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra. This time she will be premiering a piece by Spanish composer Miguel Blanco. May 3rd and 4th at Symphony Space New York City.
Bagpipes and afro latin jazz? oh yeah!!
Also in May Cristina is recording a new chamber piece by Argentinian composer Ezequiel Viñao. The piece includes Cristina on the piano, Pablo Aslan double bass, Kinan Azhme clarinet, JP Jofre bandoneón, Shane Shanahan percussion and singer Sofia Rei.
On June 5th there will be another chance to see Cristina Pato and her Migrations Band live in New York City, at Joes Pub.
The next two months are full of projects with Aspen institute, Harvard University, Silk Road Project and NPR.

Galician Connection is a festival created and directed by Cristina Pato. Produced by Nordesía.
Promoting intercultural dialogue through music and encouraging cultural entrepreneurs the 2013 edition includes artists from China, USA, Cuba, Spain and Afganistan and organizations as WOMEX, Cultures in Harmony and the SIlk Road Project-Harvard collaboration.
Galician Connection offers master classes, workshops, forums, live music and live creation during the four days festival celebrated at the City of Culture in Santiago de Compostela, SPAIN. A think tank, a laboratory of creativity: connecting and sharing to grow. Building skills for Galician artists and promoting the internationalization of Galician culture.
The 2013 editions includes flamenzco jazz master Jorge Pardo, chinese rock star Wu Tong, afro cuban pianist Omar Sosa, US Afgan violinist and cultural entrepreneur WIlliam Harvey, Galician American accordionist Victor Prieto and the nationals Rosa Cedron, Eliseo Parra and Isaac Palacín.

Cultural Entrepreneurship Forum

A forum on cultural entrepreneurship from four diferent perspectives: Laura Freid, CEO Silk Road Project and collaborator on the  Cultural Entrepreneurship Challenge of Harvard University; musician and founder of the Afghan Youth Orchestra William Harvey; Christine Semba acting as a WOMEX representative and Joaquín Martínez, CEO of Esmerarte Servicios Artísticos, a Galician cultural bussines. FREE EVENT

Concert

On Saturday April 20th the eight artists from diferent musical languages and cultures will present a show based on the music shared during the previous days. TICKETED EVENT

Jam Session

The 25 participants and students of the festival will also present a show on the morning of April 21st. In the form of a jamm session, artists and participants will end the three days of workshops, connections and conversations. FREE EVENT
