Harvard University: The Silk Road Ensemble

The Silk Road Ensemble con Yo-Yo Ma estará esta semana en Harvard University desarrollando nuevas obras y haciendo de mentores de estudiantes y músicos de la comunidad de Harvard. The Ensemble estará también probando y desarrollando las nuevas obras escritas para ellos por los compositores Michael Ward-Bergeman y Lev Zhurbin (Ljova).

Miembros del Ensemble presentarán arreglos realizados por estudiantes de Harvard y obras que están siendo creadas y desarrolladas durante esta residencia el día 26 de Septiembre a las 7 p.m. en el New College Theatre. (See the Harvard Box Office for information on attending the presentation.)

The Silk Road Ensemble con Yo-Yo Ma, recientemente llamado "uno de los grandes ensembles del Siglo XXI" por el Vancouver Sun, ofrecerá un concierto gratuito el martes 27 de Septiembre a las 7 p.m. en el New College Theatre, 10-12 Holyoke Street, Cambridge, Massachusetts, presentado por The Office of the President.

El repertorio incluye obras como "The Taranta Project" del compositor siciliano Giovanni Sollima, música romaní y obras escritas por miembros de The Silk Road Ensemble. Entre los músicos presentes se incluyen obras de Sandeep Das (India), Kojiro Umezaki (Japón), Cristina Pato (Galicia, España), Dong-Won Kim (Korea) y Kayhan Kalhor (Iran).
