Cristina Pato, Winner of the Afundación Journalism Prize: Fernández del Riego

Writer Cristina Pato has won the Afundación Journalism Prize: Fernández del Riego in its 17th edition for her article Parallel Realities, published in La Voz de Galicia on May 3rd of 2019.

The president of the Royal Academy of Galicia, Víctor Freixanes, and the jury, with Carlos Valle, Gloria Rodríguez, Fina Casalderrey and Inma López Silva, have announced the winner on Thursday December 17th in a public ceremony celebrated at the Afundación Headquarters in Pontevedra, Spain. 

In Cristina’s acceptance speech she thanked the jury’s compromise with the universal themes of the three finalists’ columns, the personnel of Afundación and her colleagues Míriam Ferradáns and Diego Giráldez for the beauty and quality of their columns. Cristina writes a weekly column for Spanish newspaper La Voz de Galicia, the fourth most important Spanish newspaper by number of daily readers. Her column, titled The Art of Restlessness, appears every Friday on the back page of the newspaper and, in ENGLISH, online here →.
