Galician Connection 2013

Galician Connection is a festival created and directed by Cristina Pato. Produced by Nordesía.

Promoting intercultural dialogue through music and encouraging cultural entrepreneurs the 2013 edition includes artists from China, USA, Cuba, Spain and Afganistan and organizations as WOMEX, Cultures in Harmony and the SIlk Road Project-Harvard collaboration.

Galician Connection offers master classes, workshops, forums, live music and live creation during the four days festival celebrated at the City of Culture in Santiago de Compostela, SPAIN. A think tank, a laboratory of creativity: connecting and sharing to grow. Building skills for Galician artists and promoting the internationalization of Galician culture.
The 2013 editions includes flamenzco jazz master Jorge Pardo, chinese rock star Wu Tong, afro cuban pianist Omar Sosa, US Afgan violinist and cultural entrepreneur WIlliam Harvey, Galician American accordionist Victor Prieto and the nationals Rosa Cedron, Eliseo Parra and Isaac Palacín.

Exclusive program

Galician Connection offers bis a bis sessions with the artists, forums, open rehearsals and workshops. An exclusive program for 25 participants. Open to artists, entrepreneurs, musicians and music lovers. TICKETED EVENT

Cultural Entrepreneurship Forum

A forum on cultural entrepreneurship from four diferent perspectives: Laura Freid, CEO Silk Road Project and collaborator on the  Cultural Entrepreneurship Challenge of Harvard University; musician and founder of the Afghan Youth Orchestra William Harvey; Christine Semba acting as a WOMEX representative and Joaquín Martínez, CEO of Esmerarte Servicios Artísticos, a Galician cultural bussines. Concert

On Saturday April 20th the eight artists from diferent musical languages and cultures will present a show based on the music shared during the previous days. TICKETED EVENT

Jam Session

The 25 participants and students of the festival will also present a show on the morning of April 21st. In the form of a jamm session, artists and participants will end the three days of workshops, connections and conversations. FREE EVENT
