On February 9th, in collaboration with the Consello da Cultura Galega (Council for Galician Culture) and the Secretaría Xeral de Emigración (General Department of Emigration), Cristina performs at the presentation of the exhibition “The Farewells. Photographs by Alberto Martí” at the storied Ellis Island, the gateway for millions of immigrants to the US until 1954.
The exhibition takes place at the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration, and presents a selection of 50 photographs by Alberto Martí on the Galician migrant exodus to the Americas between 1957 and 1963, taken at the Galician ports of A Coruña and Vigo in northwestern Spain.
Cristina is also collaborating with the Council in their projects about the “New Galician Diaspora”.
