Cristina Pato & UCSB Musicians: “My Lethe Story”
April 19 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
The Arts of Memory: Music Meets Neuroscience
In this evening of music and discussion, Cristina Pato (musican, educator and member of the Grammy-winning Silk Road Ensemble) and UCSB musicians perform My Lethe Story: The River of Forgetfulness, a piece composed by Pato and inspired by her mother’s struggle with dementia; followed by a panel discussion on how the sciences and the arts can learn from each other as they seek to understand memory and its loss. The panelists will also discuss student research opportunities on these issues in a new summer course that they will co-teach in Summer Session B.
