Cristina Pato, winner of the Clara Campoamor Award

The jury highlights the career of the artist from Ourense: “A committed woman and a role model who truly embodies the spirit of this award.”

The jury of the XIX Clara Campoamor Award for Equality of Opportunities unanimously decided to award this year’s prize to the artist Cristina Pato Lorenzo, a “committed woman and role model who truly embodies the spirit of this award,” according to the minutes of the meeting held on February 26 at the Department of Equality.

“Her professional career extends beyond recognition in the music world,” the jury’s report emphasizes. “As an educator, she has developed her own path to use the arts as a bridge of collaboration between the Humanities and Sciences in various academic institutions worldwide. In 2022, she published her first novel “No día do seu enterro” with Editorial Galaxia. A committed woman and role model who truly embodies the spirit of this award.”

The jury for the award was composed of Noa Rouco Ferreira, Councilor for Equality, as president; Stella Estrada Mosquera, from ValoReSC Innovation, representative of the Gender Violence Research and Monitoring Commission; Milagros Sierra Gómez, from the Limiar Federation, representing the Municipal Council for Equality of Opportunities between Women and Men; Marisol Nóvoa Rodríguez, president of the Ourense Business Confederation, representing the social sector of Ourense; and Elena Cid Muñoz, a civil servant of the Department of Equality, as secretary.
